When you looked at these images, did you think of a heart attack?  Heart failure?  Kidney problems?  Hormones?  The brain?  All of those things, and more, could be involved. 

 These images most directly relate to one another through a condition called congestive heart failure (CHF).  CHF is a condition where the heart begins to wear out and no longer effectively circulates blood to the body's tissues.  According to the CDC Links to an external site., about 5.7 million people in the U.S. have CHF and CHF contributes to one in every nine deaths.  As you can see, this condition is unfortunately quite common.
